Bourgeois, Emile

Emile Bourgeois

Emile Bourgeois was born on 13 September 1849. There is no information about his musical education. But later he became conductor and choir master at the Opera-Comique in Paris. He composed songs and piano works, of which many were published through Lemoine. He was also a member of the Legion of Honour. Emile Bourgeois died on 18 September 1922 in Paris (France).

In my possession is the autograph manuscript of the song "Bapteme d'Amour" for voice and piano by Emile Bourgeois. The work sets a poem by Gabriel Montoya to music. I have no information when the work was composed and the work remained unpublished.
