Tristan Foison 5: the "Foison technique"

Stealing music from others was easy using the "Foison technique", the common procedure executed several times by Tristan Foison. The "Foison technique" contains two significant features:

  1. cut off the original composer name and title from the very first music page and replace it with your own name using an obviously different font in contrast to the original font
  2. keep the plate number of the original printed score

The result of the "Foison technique" produces a title page that cries "fraud" but curiously raised no suspicion for all the years. Here a few examples (the plate numbers did not appear on these first pages but on the following pages).

Pierre Sancan: Piano concerto (on the left) and Tristan Foison: Piano concerto (on the right)

Raymond Gallois-Montbrun: Les sept peches capitaux (on the left) and Tristan Foison: Seven Melodies (on the right)
