Jane Le Soudier was born as Jeanne Alexandrine Marie Le Soudier on 18 February 1885 in Le Mans (France). She was interested in the fine arts from an early age and showed much talent. Jane Le Soudier was awarded the Prix de Dessin by the City of Paris at the age of fourteen. I have no information about her studies, but she was at least a pupil of the landscape painter Henri Harpignies and took sculpture lessons from the animal sculptor Georges Gardet. As a sculptor she was successful from the very beginning of her career: She received a silver medal by the town of Le Treport in 1908 and the gold medal by the town of Dinan in 1909 for her works. Jane Le Soudier became an officer of the Academie in 1925 and was awarded a bronze medal for sculpture at the 1925 International Arts Exhibition and an honourable mention at the Salon des Artistes Français the following year. She was also awarded the Prix Montyon and the Gold Medal of the French Federation of Devotion in 1935.
Beside her work as a sculptor Jane Le Soudier has also a history in music. I have no information about her education, but she sometimes worked as a music teacher in her life.
Jane Le Soudier died on 4 April 1973 in Limeil-Brevannes (France).
In my possession is the autograph manuscript of the composition "Chanson tzigane" for violin and piano by Jane Le Soudier. The manuscript is signed by her at the end and dated 1965.
